MISS AFRICA USA LIVE AUCTION FUND RAISER TO SUPPORT YOUNG HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS IN AFRICA

Miss Africa USA Pageant in Partnership with Youth for Human Rights, hosted a grand Live Auction and Fund Raising Dinner in Washington on Feb 8th 2014.  The event which took place at the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office, (The Fraser Mansion) in Washington DC,  drew supporters who came together to share a great informational and entertaining evening to support a good cause. The Live Auction Featured some treasured items for the continent of Africa such as the Mama Africa Statue from Ghana,  Beautiful African Dolls from Cameroon and Nigerian traditional Jewelry worn by the Reigning Miss Africa USA Kathy Onwu during the last pageant competition where she was crowned Queen.

Guests enjoyed bidding for the various items being Auctioned to raise funds for scholarships for young Human Rights Activists in Africa. The funds would go to the winners of the Essay Contest that was launched in 3 countries in Africa, ie  Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria.  This program will be extended to more countries in Africa as the goal of Miss Africa USA is to see that children grow up knowing their basic human rights and most especially the Right to Education.
