Ladies and Gentlemen please remember to get out and vote today. Indeed a special to moment in history to officially announce the Coronation of the New Miss Africa USA. Miss Cape Verde, Nereida Lobo was crowned Miss Africa USA on Saturday 11/5/16 at the historic Howard University in Washington DC, with hundreds of Africans and Friends of Africa in attendance to witness the spectacular showcase. All the Contestants were simply amazing and put on a phenomenal display of beauty, talent and culture and the Audience was indeed very thrilled by their representation

While Miss Cape Verde Nereida Lobo won the heart of the Judges and won the crown, she was tightly followed in 2nd Place by Miss Guinea Mah camara, in 3rd Place was Miss Cameroon Alma Jam, in 4th Place Miss Ghana Stacey Gyamfi and in 5th place came Miss Congo Brazaville Maeva Ikias.

Thanks to all the Judges for an incredible job, thanks to all the media that came to cover the event, thanks to the Platinum Sponsor Arik Airlines and all sponsors for their support. Much appreciation to the Chair Persons Mr. Kehinde Oreagba and Prince A.Z.K Adekoya for gracing the occasion. A heart full of thanks to Dr. Aretha Maka for Consistently supporting the Pageant’s Scholarship Drive. It was an honor to have the presence of His Imperial Majesty the Grand Son of Emperor Haile Selassie and his beautiful wife, Several African Ambassadors and representatives from African Embassies in Washington DC. It was indeed a beautiful celebration of African beauty and culture.

Nereida Lobo
Is 24 years old, graduate of Washington Adventist University with a Bachelors in Counseling Psychology. She was born and raised in Cape Verde Island and her parents Eugenia Pereira and Daniel Lobo Paulo are very proud of her and her achievements. Growing up in Cape Verde as an underprivileged child her mission and passion is to help children growing up in poverty in Cape Verde, in Africa and around the World. Through her Foundation, Little Crowns she hopes to support underprivileged children obtain school supplies, food clothing and more.
The Queen has hit the ground running and promises to build a great Legacy as Miss Africa USA 2016/2017.
