Lucas Nguema Escalada is an award-winning fashion designer from Equatorial Guinea. He is the founder of Lucas Escalada Management, an agency that discovers youth’s talents and empowers them to use their platform as artist to practice activism, increasing community participation around social issues. The agency created a social and cultural project known as Ideal woman ,an annual ceremony that aims to promote women empowerment by honoring women and organizations who are dedicated to improving women’s social and economic status, developing female role models, through social, educational and cultural activities. Through his work Lucas was recognized as an International Associate for Wagner college cohort as part of President Barack Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, which has placed 1,000 promising leaders in programs at 38 colleges and universities across the United States.
Lucas love for fashion and charity is what inspired him to be a fashion designer. By combining the two, He found He was able to do what he loved, while expressing his creativity and giving back to his community. In addition to his role in the fashion world , Escalada also studied Political Science and economics at the University of Houston.
