The joy of diverse cultures has always been central.
Years ago, the vibrant community fashion shows and shared stories ignited a passion for celebrating heritage. This creative outlet connected hearts and fostered understanding, laying the foundation for a chosen path. However, after participating in the Miss Africa USA pageant in 2019, a feeling of incompleteness lingered, a sense of not being fully prepared to realize the depth of the vision within.
That experience became a powerful catalyst for growth and self-discovery. As a dedicated mental health professional, working closely with young people and their families has offered the opportunity to interpret their experiences. Building trust and navigating challenging conversations has revealed the unspoken struggles that many face, especially within the African community. Mental well-being, often overlooked and stigmatized, became a profound personal and professional cause.
Recognizing the need for help is a sign of strength, and empowering others to understand that has become the driving force behind this return.

The journey has led to being a “Community Aunty” to many, witnessing their growth and sharing in their triumphs. This role underscores the belief in the power of nurturing young minds. Being a youth leader in church has further inspired by the resilience and spirit of children, solidifying a commitment to their well-being. These roles have deepened the understanding of community needs and
strengthened the resolve to address them head-on.
Now, truly prepared and with a renewed spirit, this return to the Miss Africa USA stage in 2025 is about more than a crown – it’s about amplifying the platform: “Empowering African Youth and Families:
Bridging Mental Health Awareness and Prevention through Community Engagement and Cultural Expression”.
The vision is a future where mental
health is openly acknowledged, where parents are equipped to prevent struggles, and where youth are empowered to seek support and build resilience.
Through the continued celebration of culture, the power of connection, and a commitment to action, communities can be created where mental health is a priority, and every young person can flourish and thrive. This time, the intention is clear, the preparation is complete, and the heart is ready to serve.
Thank you !
