TV Personality, Woman Of Substance, Myriam Leger From ESPN To Speak At Miss Africa USA Leadership Luncheon

It is a great honor indeed to have among us, the dynamic TV Personality from ESPN, a renowned Journalist with a trail of success, to grace the Miss Africa USA Women’s Leadership Luncheon.  She will be speaking inspiration to the Finalists of Miss Africa USA and sharing her experience in a successful career.

MYRIAM L. LÉGER 

As a first generation American of Haitian parents, Myriam Louise Legér was born and raised in Washington, D.C. There she cultivated a love for both music and entertainment at an early age. The love she held for all media lead her to the University of Maryland where she graduated with a B.A in Radio, Television, and Film. For the past 25 years Myriam has worked as an Associate Director on world renown productions such as: ESPN’S “Around the Horn / PTI” (also as Voiceover Talent), BET Network’s “Celebration of Gospel”, “Bobby Jones Gospel” (the longest running show in television history), “Black Girls Rock”, “Sunday Best”, “BET News”, TVOne’s “News One Now”, and CBS Sports NFL, MLB, PGA, NASCAR, U.S. Open Tennis, NCAA Football, NCAA Basketball, and the Olympic Coverage.

Myriam has proven to be a multifaceted powerhouse in the realm of entertainment and production but her credits do not end there. She is fluent in four languages: English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish. In her spare time she is very active in her church and music ministry where she serves as a member of the church choir, Praise and Worship Team Leader, and serves as a vocalist in the gospel group Michael White & True Praise Music. She enjoys playing piano, traveling, fine dining, mentoring and being a blessing to others. In the next phase of her life and career, Myriam is embarking on a personal journey to share her gift of singing and songwriting with the world.

She is a devoted mother to her daughter Olivia, a Banneker Key Scholar and Freshman at the University of Maryland Honors Program. Myriam is also a proud member of the Directors Guild of America Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
