At Embassy Of Tanzania: Miss Africa USA and Miss Tanzania USA Support Childbirth Survival To Eliminate Deaths During Childbirth

What a privilege to serve and support a good cause says Miss Africa USA Frances Udukwu and her fellow Princess of the Royal Court, the reigning Miss Tanzania USA. Both were invited as special guests at the Embassy of Tanzania to support fund raising efforts by Childbirth Survival International, to raise funds for much needed medical supplies and medications for women going through the challenges of childbirth in Tanzania.  These women’s lives are at risk and several have lost their lives in the process of childbirth due to lack of basic resources.   Miss Africa USA and Miss Tanzania USA supported the Fund Raiser and Silent Auction and at the end of the event they got a gift of special apparel such as Purses specially just for the Queen. Ending preventable maternal newborn mortality is one of Childbirth Survival International – CSI‘s priority areas, to contribute in the reduction and elimintation of unnecessary loss of life. CSI has been instrumental in efforts to save lives at birth in Tanzania by donating medical supplies and life-saving medicines. The Biharamulo project is a long-term project in collaboration with Biharamulo Hospital to improve quality, access, and delivery of reproductive, maternal, and newborn health services at the health facility and community level. Standing Up Against The Practice of Female Genital Mutilation: Miss Senegal USA Zeynab Koroma

Congratulations to Miss Zeynab Koroma for using the Miss Africa USA Platform to strongly advocate a cause which is of great concern in so many African Nations.  The age old tradition of FGM is very common in so many African countries.  While some governments have issued a legal band on the practice, the communities who believe in the practice still carry it out and every day, girls are still being put through this harrowing and traumatic experience of Female Genital Mutilation.  Zeynab, Miss Senegal who spoke very strongly about it, brought so many people to tears as she described the practice in Spoke Word she prepared for the Pageant for her Talent and Platform Presentation. She is the voice for the millions of voiceless African Girls who are forced to undergo this procedure and remain scarred for life.  Zeynab promises to continue to raise awareness and fight hard to stop this Practice. She is available to speak on this topic are conferences and women’s seminars around the United States and Africa.  She is very eloquent and speaks French and English.  Please contact us if you wish to invite Miss Senegal USA Zeynab Koroma as a Speaker at your event.

WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH: Honor Goes to Hasifa Kivumbi Miss Uganda USA

Miss Africa USA continues to celebrate Women’s Month by Honoring our young and dynamic women leaders who are changing the world around them.  The Future is here and we must celebrate, encourage and support our youth because they hold the future. MEET:  HASIFA  KIVUMBI MISS UGANDA USA FOUNDER OF CLEAN WATER FOR UGANDA PROJECT. As a little girl I spent many hours walking to fetch water for my family. In 1999 I relocated to America and my life changed forever. I never dreamed  that a day would come when the distance between my living room sofa and my kitchen sink would be merely square footage and I could use words like abundance to describe my water supply. Shortly after being in America my quality of life changed, I was able to be a child, and the many hours previously spent on the water quests were now spent in the classroom and at the play ground. It was many years later that I learned that by simply having access to a reliable water source, I was in a position to thrive unlike before. My adversity as a child led to my greatest opportunity.  I knew that I had a big responsibility to the many girls and women of my country whom to this day are still walking those long grassy miles for that liquid gold. Please Watch the video below and see for yourself the amazing work by the team led by the dynamic Hasifa Kivumbi. What a difference she is making, impacting the lives of multitudes.
