The Miss Africa USA Organization will have the honor of hosting the Monarch, His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias Sahile Selassie Haile Selassie with his beautiful wife Princess Saba Kebede as guests of honor at the 11th Annual Miss Africa USA Pageant. The Pageant which will be taking place at the historic Howard University in Washington DC is expected to attract hundreds of Africans and friends of Africa to witness the coronation of the next Queen and youth Ambassador of the diaspora. The Grandson of the Iconic Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie and Chairman of the Ethiopian Crown Council supports the empowerment of women and girls and it is such an honor to all the Finalists of Miss Africa USA and the African diaspora to receive his blessings on Saturday November 5th at Howard University, Cramton Auditorium.

His name will pop up as soon as you mention African Entertainment in the DC Metro Area. A man of God and a man of great respect who commits his time to serve the Community and promote the African heritage through entertainment. He has hosted several high profile events across the African Community not just the Sierra Leonean Community. He is also very passionate about advancing the women’s movement and the empowerment of African women and girls. Meet David Buakei Vandy With over twenty years experience in the entertainment business, David Buakei Vandy is the current host/producer of Voice of America’s musical programme, African Beat. Being very talented, David, has raised the profile of the programme, bringing together melodious tunes from all around the continent and granting interviews to already establisehed and up coming artists. The program is aired every week day, and has become a popular international platform for African artisits. David hails from the shores of Sierra Leone in West Africa, Educated at the Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone, also a Theatre artist specialized in acting and directing plays and now getting into movies. David has been in the broadcasting field twenty six years…. After years of working his way up in his field back home, he gladly embraced the opportunity to progress to the international scene. David is the Founder and Director of the first all Sierra Leonean Theatre Company – Sierra Theatre Production LLC in the United States of America. The first Sierra Leone Theatre Group to perform at the John F. Kennedy Center for preforming Arts in Washington DC. His present ambition is to master the art of Radio, Television and Theatre as part of his personal development plans. David spends most of his leisure time nurturing the talents of young people a pastime he thoroughly enjoys.

She is so gracious on stage, very dynamic and classy, it is no wonder the Miss Africa USA Team is bringing her back for the second year in a row to host the Grand Finals. Described as one of the best MCs in the DMV area, this Cameroonian beauty is the kind of MC you want to host such a high profile event. She connects with the Contestants on Stage and makes them feel comfortable while pushing forward the pageant agenda. A true believer in the empowerment of girls, she is also a motivator for the girls as year after year she continues to dish out important values that every career / professional woman should carry with her every day. She is a role model and an inspiration. We welcome back Azo Nkobena. Azocha Nkobena is an executive at Accenture, a Fortune 100 global consulting firm where she has spent her entire professional career. Her experience spans across multiple industries in the commercial and public sectors (i.e. Telecommunications, Federal Government, Postal Services, Banking). She specializes in project management, governance, business development, organizational change and strategy. Originally from Cameroon, she currently resides in Maryland. In parallel with her education and career, Azocha has always believed in the power of leadership, networking, mentorship and entrepreneurship. She co-founded ForceAfrik in 2007, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide a platform for the African Diaspora to display its cultural diversity. One of the highlights of ForceAfrik was the annual African Dance Exhibition that attracted hundreds from diverse cultural backgrounds. She was also one of the founders of the Cameroonian Student Union (CSU) in 2001 which provided networking events for young Cameroonian students seeking mentorship and advice on how to succeed in the US. She has also worked with the Cameroonian Professional Society (CPS) and is a member of the Diaspora African Women’s Network (DAWN). Outside of her involvement within the community, Azocha is a female MC/host that has catered to countless events within the DMV and beyond amongst which weddings, galas and concert shows. She brings a combination of grace, eloquence, style and humor to the stage. As such she will be gracing the stage of the Miss Africa USA pageant show to celebrate its 10th year anniversary. She is an awesome MC for Events that features distinguished guests and she promises to bring her charm on the Miss Africa USA Stage.
