This was the day Miss Mfonobong had to say goodbye to the throne of Miss Africa USA and join the others before her, who have joined the Miss Africa USA Queen’s Hall of Fame. Like the say Once a Queen, always will be a Queen. After a reign of 12 months the day finally came for Miss Mfonobong to say welcome to the new Queen.
The 2008 pageant was certainly interesting with the introduction of the Mandingo men ans part of the opening scene. Two African male models are dressed in the African Lappa and are greased up for the show. When they stormed the stage to set the scene at the Miss Africa Pageant it was quite an excitement. This is the first time Men have played such a unique role in the pageant. Don’t be surprised we may just have a Mr. Africa Pageant coming up coz these Mandingo men rock.
