JAMIE ROACH WINS MISS AFRICA USA HUMAN RIGHTS ESSAY CONTEST

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Miss Africa USA PAGEANT  in Partnership with Youth for Human Rights Launched the Annual Essay Contest for students in Africa to express their views and knowledge about Human Rights.  This year the focus was on Human Rights #26, The Right To Education. Children were asked to submit an essay about the importance of Education.   Children in the following countries participated,  Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana.  The Overall Winner emerged from Surefoot International School in Cross River State Nigeria, 12 Year Old Jamie Roach, very graceful with a heart of gold immediately donated her winning check to help abandoned children being taken care of by the MACA Foundation in Calabar. She was presented with her winning check by the Reigning Calabar Carnival Queen who represented Miss Africa USA Kathy Onwu.   Other winners of the Essay Contest are  Nkeng Birghtwell from National Comprehensive Secondary School in Cameroon and Abubakri of Ghana.
